The FileMover application for Windows performs a simple task: it takes data from one location and puts it in another location. Or to put it in other words, FileMover will copy/move files from a source directory to a target directory. It can copy/move all the files in the source directory or just specific file types. With the Search Pattern function you can set it up so that FileMover will only copy/move MP3 files for example.

If you have an unregistered version of FileMover, you will see the following on the application’s interface: Search Pattern function, a section that allows you to pick the source and the target directory, a section that allows you to pick the transfer method (copy or move), and a section that allows you to pick how to transfer data (source directory only; source directory and any subdirectory).

If you show your support for the FileMover project, get a license, and register your copy, you will see more options on the application’s interface: list files, rename duplicates, keep folder structure, delete empty directories.

Say you want to copy all MP3 files from a folder called Input to a folder called Output. Here’s what you have to do:
Step 1 – enter .MP3 in the Search Pattern box. This will tell FileMover that you want to copy MP3 files only.
Step 2 – pick the source directory and the target directory; select the “copy” transfer method.
Step 3 – click Go! and wait for FileMover to copy all the MP3s from the Input to the Output folder.

You can use FileMover for free for as long as you want. But if you show your support, part with a little money to get a license, you will unlock some advanced features and receive updates for a year.

Thanks to FileMover you can easily copy or move files from one location to another. You can transfer all the files stored in the source directory to the target directory; or you can transfer only certain types of files.

Pros

Installing FileMover on a Windows PC is a simple, effortless task. You will very quickly figure out the FileMover interface. Use the Search Pattern function to tell FileMover that you want to transfer certain types of files. Using FileMover is a simple three-step process.

Cons

To access advanced functions you must get a license.
